Well, I obviously translated a Tanglish version of the above verse from the web. So, my visibility to நாச்சியார் திருமொழி is just சுட்ட மொழி! Also, in the current state of economy, ஆயிரம் வாரணம் is an extravagance!

But the point I am trying to make is, don't miss this வாரணம் ஆயிரம் - Simple, yet makes a significant impact on how important relationships are and how one has to keep moving on with every aspect of life and its happenings.

The film may appear "uh-just OoooK movie", especially for those who are yet to experience the lost of a loved one, or those who are yet to fall in love. வாரணம் ஆயிரம் is about the strength of love and memories, how important they are in ones life, even if your loved ones depart. Some of the scenes are well scripted and acted upon - I can't remember San Francisco being shown to be so beautiful in Hollywood movies even, especially when Meghna confesses her feelings for Surya at the backdrop of the bridge while he is playing with a toy helicopter. Fantabulous! Also, when Surya calls his parents and cries uncontrollably about Meghna's death is one of the most moving scenes I've seen so far. A must watch movie, folks.

Pluses - Surya & Surya, Simran, Wonderful 1st half, Songs, Screenplay
Minuses - Drag in second half, Sameera Reddy, Divya Spandana

I think the Andal 'Vaaranam aayiram' lines also turn up in Keladi Kanmani audio cassette. I don't recall seeing it in the video though. There's an SPB version and a Janaki version

Nice movie. It took me some time to adjust to relate with an emotional higher middle class family relationship drama ! But surya as a father was revelation.
